Solar plexus central next week

Next week I will pay special attention to our solar plexus (zonnevlecht), the third chakra, in the classes. This lady explains really good and enthusiastic(!) how a good function of our solar plexus helps us in life.

After watching this video you really feel like working on your third chakra.

Who are you really?

My style of yoga

The big Buddha at Ko Samui, Thailand, always inspires me. Our son, Bodhi Muï, was named after this beautiful spot high on a mountain at the sea.

I have just returned from a yogatrip to Thailand. And as always, it intensived my own yogapath again. I did Asthanga lessons, Hatha Flow, Vinyasa Flow and even Fusion. I realised again, after doing all these different classes, how hard it is to classify my own style of yoga. And I guess that’s the beauty of it that yoga gives us the opportunity to find our own way. Offcourse when you like to do the same series all the time, you should stick to Asthanga. It is quite a challenging style of yoga with Vinyasa (parts of the Sun Salutation) in between the asana’s. In my lessons I picked a bit from the Asthanga: the sun salutions, the ujjayi breathing and using the bandas and the flow. But I do not teach purely Asthanga as I like to variate in asana’s and also build in some moments of rest to be able to feel what yoga is doing to your body and soul. So which kind of yoga do I teach? That’s a question I often hear. Actually it is rather difficult to answer. I would best describe it as a fusion of Flow, Asthanga, Hatha, Reiki and Meditation. And last but not least: it comes from my hart. During my yogaretreat I noticed again that I do not like big yogarooms full with people. I rather have small groups or private lessons in which i can really connect with people.

That’s my style. Feel free to join and share my joy in yoga.
