Sun salutation

I still remember it so well. About 12 years ago I experienced my first yogaclass in Thailand, at the Island of Ko Phangan. I did not understand a thing about the sun salutation. It seemed so complicated to me! Now after all those years of practice I learned the different movements and especially feel the flow and essence of the asana’s. Since I am teaching yoga for beginners as well, I often have to think about this moment in Thailand years ago. My students must feel the same as I did in that time! To make this beginner stage easier I like to visualize on paper what we are doing. In Asthanga yoga we use two types of Sun Salutions, A and B. The last one is more extensive and will ask more fysical effort.Once you know both sequences and other asana’s you can make variations or extend the sun salutation. It’s all up to you. That’s the beauty of yoga!
